Description

This is Tigers Eye, very beautiful when fully polished, for size reference, the long piece bottom left, is 3cm long by 5mm depth. It is difficult to get pieces the same size for making into jewelry, which is something else I am thinking of taking up. I do have one piece that I will show tomorrow but that is just a piece of rock I found in my garden. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make, CC most welcome, in any form. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are.

Some lovely pieces of Tigers Eye, I've got a piece of Blue Tiger's Eye which is very pretty too. At one time in South Africa Tiger's Eye was extremely popular for jewellery, in fact I got a Tiger's Eye ring for my 21st birthday from my parents.

Hehehehe! What a title lol. I'm genuinely taken aback at how beautiful these are, obviously helped by a fine arrangement and a well composed capture. I think it's a great idea to make them into jewelry Jeff. Brilliant!

Jeff! lol Attention-getting title! Nicely composed and presented~ Tigers Eye is a favorite of many! As for jewelry making you might look into "wrapping" as with crystals (with fine gold and/or silver wire). The long pieces would really adapt well to the technique~

I had the intention of making rock beads at one time and then realized it wasn't so easy to drill holes for stringing - unless I was working in soap stone. These are gorgeous pieces of Tigers Eye.

It’s a long process indeed but it’s also a lot of pleasure to work with them. Are you going to make jewelry too or just polishing the stones? Beautiful capture!

Great presentation (although I don't like the upper dark part...); the textures of these polished stones are really amazing ! Congratulations for your selection in LWitG (Last Week in the Gallery – week 04-2008 ) ! noel_036.gif

LOL @ title, excellently done!! I absolutely love Tiger's Eye and years ago had a silver and Red Tiger's Eye Ring. I ended up giving it to someone as a gift as I had nothing else to give. I still miss that ring. :) Anyway, congratulations on being in LWitG! Jo x (Ra3vyn)
