Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It's the crack of dawn here (or will be soon) and I'm still awake. I love the closing line in this poem...it's such a poetic clincher! Great work, fantastic, fun image too!

My stars... I'm up at 5 a.m. every morning and would you believe I miss dawn because I'm on the treadmill in the workout room. Is there really life out there as the sun comes up? LOL

Oh I do so relate to that!! The only time I manage it is for the British Trust for Ornithology, for which I do some annual breeding bird surveys in the spring. Having committed to do it, there is no excuse!

Thanks for sharing this one, Marilyn. It has put a smile on my face and brightened this cold, Wintry, Eastern day. LOL, here...the crack 'o dawn is when I decide to pull myself out of bed!

Honestly Marilyn, this has cracked me up in more ways than one, I recieved an email a couple of days ago and it contained a cartoon drawing of a man in bed with his wife's rear end stuck in his face, the caption was, Bill always wakes at the crack of Dawn. ROFLMAO! So you see this just came along at the right moment, I am sat here splitting my sides, but I don't think you are a 'wuss' at all. I love it! Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

If it was meant you would have done it. I have always loved that bit of my Gran's logic, blame it on fate. But I can almost see them "hundreds of swans in the air". Tomorrow. BJ

Oh how I hate to get up in the morning, Oh how I hate to get out of bed....(Irving Berlin song from WWI) LOL at your title and prose, Marilyn! Actually, I don't blame you for not wanting to get up out of a warm bed, but, in contrast, unless there's an approaching cloudburst on tap, I almost always roll out of bed, not only at the crack of dawn, but way before then if there's a rare photograph of opportunity to be taken, be it fog, morning colors and/or shadows, the landing of a UFO, whatever.
