Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wonderful capture Marilyn!! I Love it!

Looks like a similar bridge here in the East which crosses the Susquehanna River in the city of Harrisburg. When that river approaches flood stage, it too, gets up to the road decking. Great capture, Marilyn.

I looked it up. :) "Built in 1911, the Fernbridge carries California 211 over the Eel River and is approximately 1320 feet (nearly a quarter of a mile) long. This reinforced concrete arch span bridge is considered to be one of the world's longest and is the oldest still in use." Awesome photo! I like your POV much better than the shots I saw when I was looking for the stats on your bridge. Very nice!

I love bridges of all shapes and sizes, just ask my wife. I wind her up, every time a bridge comes on the TV I say, I've been across that one, or I'll have to have a run out to see this one. Excellent capture Marilyn, I see the graffiti artists have had a go, even on the third one in. Bravo!!!!!

This is a fantastic capture, and the arched form and supports of this bridge are amazing...Charles Bridge (Karlovy Most) is built along the same principle, only its a LOT older. I love your perspective on this one, and the sense of color, especially with the rust stains on the supporting walls. Fantastic, beautiful work!

The first thing I noticed was there is not an accumulation of debris caught up under each arch. It is nicely clean and appealing. Wonderful veiw.

Good lawd! What a terrific POV and DOF in this exquisite capture! Perspective a-go-go! Plus, the clarity and textures are nothing to sneeze at! Actually, the bridge does project a look of the Victorian era. Ergo, the term, Queen of Bridges. Hard to conceive of this bridge ever falling down, ala London Bridges.

Very very nice, POV, and I love your description. I can just imagine the bridge and river during a flood, with the brown water churning and boiling, and the bridge just ignoring it all.

I really like this bridge Marylin, you have found the perfect position for your capture. Jeff beat me to mentioning the added grafitti. Brilliant shot!
