Description

As promised, here is the "before / after" version of my last picture. You can see a 100% version here As you can see, there's no limit in what you can do for improving an image. The starting picture was nice (except for the "crushed" ear that I didn't notice before shooting = BIG mistake ! of course, the circumstances ... having Kyla in front of you, you don't look at her ears, believe me! :o) ) But if you don't make any mistakes, you can't be better, always try to learn something each day, that's my motto. I'm quite happy with the results. I will try to make a print version. I must confess that I've started from the jpg file only to see if I was able to remove the ear in a "natural" way. Comments are welcome! Peace. Aegy.

Although I really like the finished product, I see nothing wrong with the original picture. Nice shot either way. ^_^

Your models are near perfection...but you make them perfect...damn! Imagine what you can do with an ordinary person...

I am very glad you provided the 100% zoom, it made it much easier to see the changes and I can appreciate the work that went into removeing Kyla's ear as I have done something very similar myself. Thanks for all the tip's.

Looking at the original, its easier to tell how much difference you made between it and the finished product. Wonderful work, and wise words.

I think you're an awesome photographer and I appreciate the effort you put into postworking your stuff, but honestly I like the original alot better. The only problem I've ever had with your work is that you postwork it too much, especially when it barely needs any tweaking at all. Hell, I don't even mind the extra pit crease or squashed ear. I know it's all down to personal taste but I think you should put a little more faith in yourself as a photographer and maybe try a little less photoshop magic, because after all that "correction" she looks like a robot. Please don't get all upset; this isn't a troll, I'm trying to be constructively critical. Seriously, this is the only thing wrong with your work as I see it.

Thanks for posting the before/after -- it's always very enlightening. PS - I don't think your stuff is over processed -- I think it always looks better after you're done with it.

The 'After' is too light to my eyes. The skin tones are richer and more tactile in the 'before' picture. The 'after' is a beautiful picture, but the 'before' photo is more of a picture of a beautiful model. There is a subtle distinction. Regards Richard.
