Description
WARNING!
This is for your information:
Last week my computer was attacked by the recent Trojan Horse Tj/BZ.
- I got an unsolicited faked porn pop-up from Porn-Tube. Together with it came a small window- “You do not have the latest directX to view the videos. To download, click OK”. This repeatedly pops up, preventing you from shutting the fake Porn-Tube window, forcing you to click OK. This, however, downloads the Trojan horse TJ/BZ to your hard drive and installs PSW.x-vir, Media Codec Zlob/Downloader Zlob, and Spy.Win32£mx on your hard drive. They disable your firewall and anti-virus program and make your computer accessible to these crooks.
- Next, an unsolicited window pops up from “Security Center”. The page’s layout makes it look as though it is from Microsoft, but it IS NOT. Microsoft’s name is not on the page. The page urges you to try their malware scan, purchase it, their registry cleaner and Golden Shield anti-virus software. BEWARE! The scan sends ALL your personal info (credit card, bank info, etc.) to their computer. They also have the nerve to asy you pay them between $20.- to $30.- to purchase their malware!
- A small message from “Support Center” pops up every 30 secands from the task bar (at bottom of computer screen) stopping whatever your doing, saying you have been visiting porn sites, your computer and security are at risk- click here to secure your computer and privacy. Closing the message only results in the “Security Center” pop-up popping up on your monitor. This is a viscious circle, taking over your computer to force you to buy their malware.
- I had to clean out my fire wall, anti-virus software and registry cleaner as they were disabled. I next went onto the Internet and tried several “free” virus scans. “Adware Alert” caught all the malware installed, so I purchased it and cleaned out my computer. I’ve also purchased XoftSpySE and Regcure, am trying AVG Anti-Spyware and F-Secure (they are quite expensive! Used by universities and businesses). My computer is now clean and free of these annoyances.
This cost me a week of work and head aches. I hope this warning will help you folks avoid the trouble I’ve had.
Sincerely,
T-Rex

aaahhhh! Microsoft, the best friend a criminal ever had, more holes than a sponge, more backdoors than a political party. if I could afford a new Mac, I'd buy one.

I got this pop-up. I found that the "Taskmanager" in the bottom toolbar will shut it down. It's not just from the Porn-Tube, it comes from other "fake" sites, too. The secret is, DO NOT click on it to close it.
