Description
Phew - 32 hours of rendering later, here we are! House modelled in Sketchup. Objects from a variety of sources, but most textures my own.
Single external light source - no fill lights - just to see what renderer can do.
There's a lot I want to improve here - higher GR quality to reduce blotches, correcting the size of some items, better AA, but after 32+ hours of rendering - GR+1.0, blurred reflections etc - I'm leaving it for a bit :). Minor PW only to correct some errors.

Fantastic render. I fight the Vue blotchiness as well. Seems like to get a perfect render your looking at no less than 5-6 days. Again, nice work

Great realism!!

that's a pretty damn fine render. Almost as good as some 3DS Max ones I've seen. Pity it takes so long to do it though

Fantastic work - which version of Vue did you use?
craftycurate
Vue 6 Infinite.

That's a wonderfully detailed scene, the lighting and mats look excellent, but as you say a little blotchy, the overall look is very realistic.

Only one outside light? You did a great job with radiosity here, despite the blotches. 2 things come to my mind: did you have "optimize last render pass" on? The blotchiness I see here is typical of this setting. And, did you use your own render settings with a custom photon map? Higher photon tracing and gathering can give better results than boosting the atmo quality, with shorter render times.

Thanks folks ... Bruno thanks for suggestions. I did look into Advanced settings but wasn't sure how to use them e.g. gathering photons - will conduct some experiments, esp if it leads to better quality and shorter render times!

Wonderful creation and colors...

Excellent work indeed. The light is so beautifully spread across the room, even in more "remote" areas. That must have taken a while to get right, I'm sure.
