Description

HERE LIVED........ Marching to german cities you can sometimes find this little memory stones. This is an art -project of the german artist Gunter Demnig, who lives in Cologne (Koeln) in Western Germany. This little bronce plates were installed in the ground floor and show a name of a victim of the Nazi terror, who once lived here at this place. And so the project works: Marching nearby on the trottoir you should find this little things and stand still for a moment to read the writing - and bingo! the victims awake to new live for some seconds and get a face among hundredthousands of nameless others..... This sounds simple, but it works well: As I found this bundle of stumbling blocks nearby in my neighborhood, I stood still for a moment and tried to read the names... After the last words "Missed in Auschwitz" you have reached a point, where you are interested in their age and their relationship, when they must die. The younger child was only two years old.... This project began just as an illegal action, but it is now accepted by the citizens and the mayors of the cities. Interested persons can take a partnership. This 4 plates are situated in Berlin - Moabit, shot with my Nikon Coolpix as the most of my pics. I hope you enjoy it. Comments are wellcome as ever, and thanks to them for my older pics..... My god, 2 o`clock in the morning here! I`m lucky that my mother don`t know.....
