Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Beautiful prose Marilyn, I am happy for you that it snowed today, for now you can never again say, 'It never snows where I live'. Brilliant! Bravo!!!!!

Yesterday was nice and sunny. This morning I got up and there's about five inches of snow. Yikes! I'm glad you got snow. Yay! :) Nice writing!

thanks so much for sharing your thoughts, isnt it amazing when something so insignificant as "snow" can have such an impact and some how "right size" us?

I LOVE THIS, and I missed it...but ah...I saw (and read) it now. I love the written account, the cadence of it is wonderful, and the closing stanza strikes me like classic Japanese Haiku, which has a completely different form, but the same overall emotional impact. Fantastic work all around, and yeah, I generally avoid making snow angels as well...only because in my winter wear, my coat keeps me warm and dry, but once I'm back indoors, I realize that the backs of my pants are wet from melted snow. But ah...snow IS pretty when it first falls, though being from Chicago, I always dread shoveling it.
