Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

You've definitely got a color thing going on here...I love the subtle shifts in color in the image that accompanies your text. The text itself is wonderfully simple and to the point, without useless hyperbole. The image though, I think it's the color combination that really strikes me...it makes sense, but it's also unexpected on a level, I guess because of the shift in the blueish writing, I love the way it fades to an off white which should be lost in the lavenderish/pinkish background, but it doesn't vanish...great visual sense surface tension there. In short, I like this piece!

Wonderful prose Marilyn, a new side to you, quite a nice new side at that. Excellent work! Bravo!!!!! The Friday group I go to with Alan(artaddict2) has quite a few talented people, one of them, Kevin writes poetry about things he has done and people that he knows. His mother was also talented in the same way, I will ask him if I can post a couple of them on here.

How funny. I read this, and had to go back and look because I thought the title was "Make A Joyful Noise." I think I thought so from the beginning! Maybe I'm just losing my mind. In any event, your closing line just wrapped the whole thing up for me. Excellent work!
