Description

Based on a photograph I saw whose lighting interested me so as a technical exercise I thought I'd try to reproduce it. The image uses only 1 distant light for the sun and the rest is a mixture of indirect light and skylight. P.S. I thought of changing her expression but seeing as it took almost 30 hours to render my enthusiasm for the experiment has dropped somewhat so I doubt I'll do it over.

HI mgatch, Scene is well composed and draws the eye in, but the lighting is just so realistic and natural. Perfect! Before I read your PS, I was wondering about the rendering time, hope you had an extra computer to use in the meantime. It was worth it.

Actually I don't mind her expression - it may be sudden interest in the person who just walked into the dive to maybe take the boredom out of her day - and of course idleness is the devil's workshop, right? Great scene - I very much like the lighting you've created in it.

Man that is awesome. 30 hours though. That's why I still hate all the GI programs. But this is really gorgeous. I'd like to get into that image and relieve her of her boredom
