Description
I prefer to ID the dragonflies and butterflies etc. that I post but I’m finding this one to be a little elusive. I believe him or her to be in the Saddlebags family of dragonflies but I haven’t had any luck finding which one. If anyone can ID him please do so, your help will be appreciated. Thanks as always for your views and comments.

I cannot help with the name, but I can see where the saddle bag tag would come into it, if you check out leeco's gallery on here, he may be able to help out with the name. He has quite a few different species and I believe a good refence book. His latest upload is here:-http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1610788 Excellent capture the clarity and detail is outstanding, instant fav. Bravo!!!!!

I think this is a Striped Saddlebags and although their normal home range is extreme south Texas, my guide book does indicate they stray a long long way North. Your area is well within this area. It is definitely a male. I have never seen one and am curious as to how frequently they are seen outside their home range. Well captured. Lee
