Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Beautiful photo and words, Marilyn. You're certainly blessed with siblings to share good times with.

Siblings eh! I am the yougest of seven, two brothers four sisters, one of my brothers is dead, thats to be expected though, I am sixty in a couple of months, my eldest sister is in her late eighties. Myself and three of my sisters have diabetes but not the eldest one. Beautiful prose once again Marilyn, thought provoking as well. It makes you think of 'Family' and family ties. Excellent! Bravo!!!!!

i am the eldest of 5 aswell and its hard as they all want advice and help from their big brother not realising that first i dont know all the answers its common sense most of the time and second i dont think they realise sometimes my own family needs help and its hard sharing myself .that said i really would`nt want it any other way we are close and friends and of course brothers and sisters :o)..excellent thought provoking work marilyn mick

Evocative words! I'm glad you couldn't make the image work as a thumb - it adds to the experience to be able to see everybody while we're reading. You rock!

Poignant retrospection, so eloquently delivered. Battling siblings at their best. In the eternal words of Rodney King, can't we all just get along?

This is another great post...I love the sentiment here, and the note of truth that rings through this. I have no brothers or sister, at least none that share the same genetic goop that we're all made of, but I know at least some semblance of fraternity, just through some of my friends, especially one particular Russian dude who shall remain nameless! Great words, great image...a fantastic post all around.
