Description
Took a trip today to the Litcherman Nature Center here in Memphis, which features 65 acres of gardens, forest, hiking trails and a lake. Most of the species of flowers and trees found here are native to the region. Although I've lived here for 15 years today was my first visit to the place.
Being in the dead of winter probably cannot compare to the beauty of spring, but each season has its own unique charm. We think this is a dried milkweed plant left over from last summer. It was taken in the late afternoon sun utilizing a 200mm zoom lens. Throughout the year the Center hosts various festivals, special events, and plant sales. A return trip this spring is certainly in order.
