Dogsitting Oh now I know This is a REALLY Weird thing to Write about But I tellya I have to write Because of this crazy Dog that's here She belongs To my brother And she's here For a couple of days Now I LOVE dogs I've had dogs I know dogs And how they can be But THIS dog This dog has fooled me She has done things That make no sense She won't come out She won't look at me She just doesn't want To be here So I let her sit In her special place Take her for walks And let her be Tonight her people Came home And she was out the door And a happy dog She didn't look back Didn't look at me She was just happy To see HER people And we were both much happier!!! 2/4/08 I didn't have a foto of the dog in this writing, so I used one of my son's dog. May I present Barger!!!

My daughter, who is good with just about any animal, hates to companion-sit for my younger "girl" Jessie. Jessie is the timid one and as soon as I walk out of the door, she ducks under the bed. That's where she stays for however long I am gone - an hour or a week. Food and water must be left at the edge of the bed so she can stick her nose out to eat and drink without actually leaving the safety of her hiding spot. Newspaper is shoved under the corner of the bed because she will not even venture out to "take care of business." I can sympathize with your sitting duties with your brother's companion. LOL Great little ditty.

OMG! You were secretly sitting for PJ's dog! That's just weird. I never would have believed there are two dogs that act like that, but there you have it!

Nice writing to go with your photo. Believe me, Marilyn, you were appreciated by him for house-sitting, however they have an unusual way of missing their masters. This really got to me with a huge smile.

Sounds like a surly teenager, that pooch. Difficult to believe that after you seemingly bonding with the dog, that it was an unappreciative ingrate all along. Cool shot of Barger, and more insightful prose!

Animals are so HONEST in that way...they don't know you...you don't exist...I have a cat who is the same way. I used her as a personality detector. If she ran and hid from someone, they never returned to my apartment. 99% of the time, she was dead-on accurate, and that 1% was due to...ear mites, believe it or not. But anyway, this is a great piece of writing, an observation that speaks volumes of the dog, but also about general human relationships. THAT is fantastic, and the image itself is fantastic! I love it!

I guess the dog had seperation anxiety. Your brother must usually take it wherever he goes. Love your pros
