I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.BIOI discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
For my photography I use a Canon 30D. My primary lenses are a Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DO IS USM and a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM.

One of my favorite things to see is snow with no human footprints in it. This is a beautiful shot! When I looked at the picture, and before I read what you wrote, my first thought was that only Brave Dennis was goofy enough to be out hiking in this! We appreciate your tenacity in bringing us such beautiful pictues.

I agree with 'barbdennist' about seeing snow with no footprints in it. A really wonderful shot. At my age, I would be one of those 'wimps'! Thanks for sharing your hiking adventures.

Were you the first to put footprints all over this lovely snow? Fantastic POV. It's a real treat to see undisturbed snow in such a lovely setting.

Nice shot Dennis. The snow looks really wet and heavy. We did some survival training in the stuff. Had two section of parachute silk strung over our sleeping bag, far enough apart so they wouldn't touch. In the morning we had 6-inches of new snow and the two sections were less than 1-inch apart. It would have been an unpleasant awakening if they had touched, Sig...

Excellent POV!!!!!! sorry I'm so behind in commenting I just got back from Idaho. This looks so pure & untouched by human feet!!!!! Can't imagine why there's no one there but you?? LOL!!!!!

I love that pristine snow. This is a great shot - nice perspective. It makes me start imagining future footprints, perhaps snowshoe tracks, or cross-country skis. There's a lot that isn't there! Like the dog that didn't bark in the night. (I'm really digging you doing b&w, btw!)

Amazing b&w photo!! Excellent!!
