Description

In Norse mythology, Valkyries were virgin Warrior Women whose tasks were to direct battles, to choose the warriors who would die and to bring back their souls to the Walhalla, Odin's palace. Those heroes were brought there because they were meant to fight with Odin at the Ragnar¶k, the battle of the end of the world. I chose to represent a Valkyrie just before she goes to search for those souls that she has to bring back to Walhalla. She is beautiful with her armour and her blond hair, the eyes turned to the skies of Asgard. Valkyries were also minor goddesses and were serving Odin. Behind her, the doors of Odin's palace. Her horse is waiting for her, ready to go and bring back the souls of those who died the sword in the hand... In her left hand, she holds a horn that is reminding of Heimdall's horn. Heimdall was the keeper of the rainbow bridge leading to Asgard, the city of the gods built by Odin and his brothers after they created the human beings. It was said that the day the final battle would begin, he would blow in his horn... The Svana outfit is splendid and the textures by my friend Kaleya are wonderful. I wanted to feature this set in particular because it is one of the best sets of textures for the Svana outfit. I really love it. I used HDRI lighting for the render. The ground is a VUE material applied to the ground. Scene composed in POSER 7 and rendered in VUE 6 Pro Studio. Thank you for your interest! :D Credits: - At DAZ3D: V4.1; Mil horse; House of Mog Ruith (Red house Studios); Vanessa for V4 (Maelwenn); vikibg horn by john Malis (from the M2 Viking pack). - Free stuff: Earrings by Stegy (Celtic earrings for V4 at poserdog.com).

This is really gorgeous. I love the explanation and the environment. The horse standing behind her is a nice touch and as always the lighting is superb.
