... or what is left of it.
Another HDR - 3 exposure this time.
As for those who asked about what the Lamp i posted yesterday would look like without the HDR - picture the whole bit which the glass encases as white and no detail and then a load of "flare" and spill-over onto the adjacent part of the image. Or the other extreme would be a soft detailed glow of the lamp itself without any of the post being visible. I might post up in the forums the complete range of photos used for it if i get round to it.
The idea of hdr is that every part of the image is visible to the screen display in detail - hence they often (like this one) look "hyper-real" and sometimes (probably like this one as well ;)) falsely coloured and saturated although not necessarily - whether that is a look you like or not, that is what a lot of HDR looks like. I can see why it might be a "marmite" technique (either love it or hate it).
Thanks for stopping by to take a look. Comments very much welcomed on the image.

great pov..

Specatcular POV, Rich!!! Very impressive HDR technique. Makes you want to reach out at touch the stones on these beautiful ruins.

Once again, you have shown us your strong compositional skills. The HDRI works well here, because colors aren't out of wack..yes, a bit 'hyper" as you put it..but still with in the realm of reason.

Just beautiful ! Congratulations

Hyper-real is a great way to put it. I love the super detail in this one.

Thanks for the edu on what we ( I ) should see or what is different on the HDR picture. Sorry so far I just saw amazingly colored sky or pasture. You venture deeper and try it on all sort of things. Love the texture of the stone wall here.

Looks great, I for one like them, although everything looks exagerated! Fantastic Pov.

I do think it is a technique you either love or hate and i think that it depends on the shot whether you love or hate it. With this shot i LOVE your framing and composition, not sure if i like the HDR here though, but thats just a personal thing...

Excellent capture, well done..

Looks like you need your sensor cleaning the HDR has highligted many dark spots in the sky area. Not bad just to over done making it look to unnatural.

I love the POV and how the grass and textures of the ruins have been highlighted. I see spots in the sky though ... from the sensor? Anyway excellent work once again Rich

While extreme HDRs like this are not normally my cup of tea, I'd have to say it works rather well with the stonework. The sky less so, and I might have cloned out the (dust?) spots. But overall, a very striking image. I have a seen very good HDR images though where they still have a complete dynamic range yet are quite subtle about it.
