I'm a software engineer by day. I spend my time pushing ones and zeros around, which is not as easy as it sounds. They're slippery little devils.BIOI discovered fractals in the mid 80's with Fractint on what must have been a 25 MHz processor. Around 2001 I upgraded all the way from 400 MHz to 1.8 GHz, and thought about making fractals again. I discovered Fractal Explorer, and later XenoDream. These days I use mostly XD and MBF, with an occasional image from ChaosPro and Quasz, since I've always loved quaternions.
For my photography I use a Canon 30D. My primary lenses are a Canon 70-300mm f/4.5-5.6 EF DO IS USM and a Canon 24-105 f/4 L IS USM.

This reminds me of a story I had almost forgotten. Many years ago in our young and silly years we planned a picnic with friends. We went in their car, with their medium sized dog and drove up in the mountains to the picnic area. When we got there it looked almost like this table. We ended up eating in the car with Ken and me and the wet and snow covered dog in the back seat. Thanks for the memory. Your picture is great!

Great capture Dennis. It looks really nice in b&w. I think hikers are hardier types than picnickers.Sig...

It's hard to believe there are no picnickers! That's a perfectly lovely spot. All they'd have to do is sweep off the table, set up a Coleman stove, and open a couple cans of tomato soup! Maybe throw together some grilled cheese sandwiches. It would be great! Ummmmm ... I won't be able to make it, though. I have a prior engagement. Too bad - that's one of my favorite cold-weather meals! (Did I mention I like the photograph? It's very nice. I like these b&w shots of yours.) :)

It looks like you were there when it was still snowing. I'm a warm weather kind of hiker though lol. Great shot Dennis.

No, no ants, spiders, nor flying things. Just perfect. ;o) It does look cold, though. Excellent image!

Great shot of the snow and table. I think I'll stay in the car to eat my sandwich.

It would be no fun having hot chicken on a snowy picnic table L Looks like alot of snow fell on this antless picnic area! Gr8 shot, Dennis!

Hmmm... all those pesky lil flakes sure did add up! There aren't even a few crumbs for the snowbirds. What a lovely spot. :)

Not even any bird footprints??? As you say, no pleasing some people but you have pleased me immensly. Had there been hikers or picnickers that day, it would have spoilt the shot - I love the crispness in the snow and how perfect it is just laying there untouched by anything. A great capture Dennis and I'm going to miss this little series of yours - it's been wonderful. Hugs Chrissy xx
mps
It does look a bit chilly for a picnic. But you would avoid any ants alright. :)

Wow, looks like at least a foot of snow and more on the way. Chile for lunch?? Brrrrfect capture. ;-)
