Description

a very good morning to you all :o) i went out last night to 18 th birthday party to let my hair down, if i had some so to speak and felt more than a bit out of place .it was full of kids :o)..i must be getting old !!..it was quite funny though watching everyone get drunk whilst i sat there sober .so if i did`nt get round to everyone (i did try) i will catch up today as i said yesterday the film atonement was part filmed here in redcar and what you see is a commemoration left to mark what the heroes of the d-day landings did in the second world war ..its strange that its said "this was the war to end all wars" and yet here we are 63 years later still fighting wars ,still losing young lives and still the human race can`nt say enough is enough !..should arm everyone with a camera and then can shoot anyone they like without hurting any body :o) have a great weekend my friends mick

Oh, so true, Mick, as the song says, "When will we ever learn"? Great foto, and if just one person thinks the same thing, and just one life is saved because of it, then it's all worth it.

This is so interesting, Mick, and a perfect composition on your part! It looks like an excellent piece of sculpture, i wonder how often they have to paint ouy the graffiti.

I am smiling as I write/type this Mick, many years ago I saw a film/documentry on Safari's and the hunters were armed with rifles that had camera's instead of bullets and all they could do was shoot pictures of the animals only the guides had guns with ammunition. I said then its a pity all soldiers guns weren't like them. I wonder why there's a Sea Gull on top off the sculpture Mick, is it to stop the real ones from crapping on it?lol. It does look suprisingly clean as well, no graffiti as far as I can tell. The rifle reminds me of Dad's Army with their wooden ones. Excellent work and narrative. Bravo!!!!!

Fantastic photo Mick! And happy to hear that you went to that 18th Birthday party! haha I could imagine how the teens were partying. been there, done that before hehe!! ahh sec brb.... coffee is done in the pot.. ok back. have my wake up juice lol. Yes I have to agree, it is quite strange they made that bold statement. how could they predict what the future would hold for us. and yes, I wish it was just cameras and no dang guns. have a great weekend my friend. and that idea about dinner photos haha... yeah that may be cool. especially for the ones that have extended uploads a day capability! Mike.

I agree with you, Mick, and we could melt all the guns down and make cameras out them!! What a great thing that would be. Mothers do not raise their sons just to go off to war. Check my avatar, all of that grey hair came during the time our son was in Afghanistan for 14 months. Excellent capture.
