Dude, this is fantastic. You can really feel the emotion of the song she's belting out. Very nice composition as well. Great work.

very interesting choice of subject, and very successfully within period. it makes me think of Billie Holiday. i think you handled light very well, though if you were wanting realism, some adjustment/blending layers could help. the shadowed piano player is perfect. the mouth seems a bit unrealistic for singing, did you use a reference? if not, it might be helpful. all around, a great image and far from the norm. very classy, very emotive. good work!

Oh damn. I usually don't like to comment on other people's comments (you can tell I'm gonna, though, right??) :p lol About the comment that the mouth seems a bit unrealistic for singing: as a singer, I can say this absolutely depends on the syllable one is singing! It also depends on the language, the technique, the style, etc. When I first saw this image, it immediately brought to mind a specific song I learned years ago; the emotion, lip shape, and erra'thing, mirrors that song exactly. :d We don't usually picture singers in terms of still frames; we watch them live or in videos, and both of those scenarios have constant motion. Even if the singer has a body as still as a block of ice, the lips still move... And usually we do not focus intently on their mouths each and every second. (Unless you're me, in which case, you would not be able to help it). :P AnyHOO, I was absolutely taken in by this image the moment I saw this. It is the perfect visual representation of how I feel when I sing. And how emotive singers make me feel when I listen. I love this. 5stars.gif
