Description
Second shot from a northern Mississippi road trip we took yesterday. Lots of old abandoned barns & old houses are to be found once you get way out in the country. Somehow they add to the indigenous cultural mystique and charm of the region.
At one time this was no doubt someone's home, located in the middle of a field of hay. Note the two chimneys, on either end of the small structure. They were sure to be ready for those cold country winters they used to have before George Bush set out on trying to boil the planet. But these days, it seems to have natural air conditioning! Probably lots of rattle snakes and copperheads too.
Unfortunately this is a sight that is being quickly replaced by suburban sprawl, although I must admit that Leah & I did stop by at a Wendy's just outside of Holly Springs. Sigh. . . But if they hadn't built it we wouldn't have stopped! Duh. . .
This is somewhere on state Highway 4 between Senatobia and Holly Springs Mississippi. A ride in the country can do miracles on your spirit. We are looking forward to our next trip, no doubt next weekend.

Thanks for stopping by!

I love old buildings and the memories they must hold for the people long gone. Would love to have shared this with my good friend who recently passed on. He was just getting into photography and had taken some wonderful shots. He would have really been inspired by your and Leah's work. Thanks for sharing.
