Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I can't imagine leaving a place like where you live so much. I'd love to just hole-up where you are and just suck clean air. :-) Nifty prose and photo.

I can see I'm going to get in all kinds of trouble again here, snapping pix and driving at the same time. So, just to let you all know NOW, all I did was take the camera, point and shoot, didn't so much as take my eyes off the road!! REALLY, I'm a very good driver!!

There's a Dr, Seuess book about the things a boy sees on his way home. Mullaney and I make a game out of every trip. Of course she can see dragons and fairies and unicorns which are not always visible to the grown-up eye, so they are always adventures. That greenery along the road is where they would most likely be hiding. Keep your eyes peeled! Great work.

I'll let you off with a stern warning this time young lady, only because it is a long stretch of open road and not a built up area. My older brother was also a long distance driver like my self, and he had a set up many years ago in his truck. He mounted his camera on a bracket attached to the dash, he then measured and made a mark on the windshield so that what he saw through the marks was the same as the camera saw through the lens. Then when he saw something interesting, he fired the shutter by the remote(cable release). Now this was way back in the late sixties, way before the police had their video's. And he had some quite amazing shots as well. Excellent prose Marilyn, and yes a nifty shot through the windshield. I don't know where you get it all from, but it's good stuff so keep it coming. Bravo!!!!!

Have a great trip! :) Another fine poem, my friend. You've captured that feeling of driving alone quite well. Nicely done!
