Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Yup. I know this one. LOL I now have loppers 3 feet long to prune mine. I actually got stabbed in the chest by a rose one year and ended up having minor surgery when it got infected and absessed. Blasted roses...LOL

Cute, I think I lost that battle a few times myself :o)

Nice bling lol! Hardy garden gloves are a good protection for this kind of work, but no doubt you will already have something like that, but didn't come out prepared tut-tut!.

Wear gardening gloves...heehee! I know, you won't wear them, Marilyn. Hey, your pruning shears has a nice little face on it. Like a little monster chomping away at the stems.
mamabobbijo
OUCH! I hear they feel bad and send you gorgeous flowers later.
alhak
yep very ouch! where are your garden gloves young lady?
durleybeachbum
I know EXACTLY how it is!! And wearing gloves is so hard, cuts one off from nature!

Photostar has spotted the face, I think it looks like Pac-Man, the chommping things in the early computer games. That ring on your pinky looks a bit tight Marilyn, the other one looks gorgeous, I wonder what stone it is? Saphire maybe? I have just purchased some Saphires on eBay, I am going to polish them for making jewelry. A small dab of iodine keep the germs out of that scratch. Excellent one handed capture. Bravo!!!!!
timtripp

Those hands look like mine do after a day at work. You better take care of them. We still need more of your pictures.

Oooh, I missed this one, but AH...here it is. Yeah, pruning roses is definitely a painful pursuit! It always looks so good when done though! OUCH. The snipper-thingies (I never know what to call garden tools) are captured wonderfully, especially since the cutting blades look a bit like a dragon or some other quasi-reptilian creature! I love that bit, as well as the down and dirty nature of...well...working close to soil! It's a refreshing feeling I know...even though I was always the one getting down and dirty, looking for woodlice and slugs, rather than pruning things back. But that's just me...I'm weird like that.
