Description

This is intended to be a shorter-duration ship that isn't designed for distances, but rather to move cargo containers from and to the ships that will be carying them. I started out envisioning a ship that could be used to move in either direction, but forgot to attach the grapplers on the other end... Oops. Ah well, you get the idea, anyway. The ship was modeled in Bryce 6, built entirely with primitives, and the materials are mostly either made by myself or modified presets that came with the program. The starscape and planet, as well as alot of postwork and compositing, were all done in Photoshop CS2. Thanks for taking a look, and suggestions and comments are certainly appreciated!

I like the concept! I like how your robotic arms/grips remind me of the pods in 2001! You might try varying the textures a bit on the arms, make the parts look flexible. The singular texture makes them look solid and immobile? Great sense of scale! Love the lighting too!

Nice composition, you have created the tug boat of space, a ship designed for work. Excellent render. Todd

A very utilitarian design, like the fact you stripped it of any un-neccessary detailing as it would be.Like the concept and background work,do agree a slight variation in textures would add a little more interest overall, but definitely a great model!

Unless the grappling arms are repositionable..that would make sense I think. And I agree with Digimon, the arms look a bit too solid, but overall this looks really cool!
