Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

It's interesting to see that your art is your life and vice-versa. The colors here are vivid and super-lively, beguiling in that "bright" way and the textures and contrasts are just as sharply defined, but what I like the most is the fact that this is an image that stands on its own, as something simple--and even overlooked. People usually take pictures of roses AFTER they've bloomed and look all pretty, but few ever take pictures of the potential that they possess and well...there's quite a lot of potential here! I love that element in art, especially here! As always, great work! Beautifully captured.

Most ladies have had their Valentine roses Marilyn, you still have yours to look forward to, and when everybody else's has died and been placed on the compost heap, yours have yet to bloom and when they do will last for longer on the bush than in a vase on the window sill. I look forward to their progress. Excellent capture, I too agree with chip. Bravo!!!!!

I think all of us here at R'osity need to place an FTD order and send you a ga-zillioned bunch of roses next year for Valentine's Day, Marilyn. These climbers you have here will definitely give you a lot of beauty blooms. Watch out for those thorns.

I am very familiar with the Climbing Blaze. I just lost one this fall... to the neighbors and their Round Up used on the vines on the other side of the fence. The Pinata is a new one for me but it probably has the same hardiness. Excellent choices in roses and great capture.

Oh my, a new dimension has been added to the art of rose photography! Most unique, and a refreshing addition to the genre, Marilyn. Plus, lots of contrast in this picture.

The first year I was married, my sweetie gave me feather roses. I asked why such an odd choice. He explained that he wouldn't have to replace them for a long while. Sweetie is long gone now. Left me with "four hungry children and a crop in the field". The kids are grown and gone, but always with me, and I have the most AMAZING feather duster on the planet!
