Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Great work here! I love reading your stuff. I'm going without sleep here...a situation that will be rectified once the sun is higher up...but suffice it to say, I'm in a loopy mood and when I read the title of this piece, I immediately thought of the things I enjoy the most. "A drink in my hand...a book in my lap." Sounds a bit like a song, the kind you're hear on twangy interstate radio, when it's only you, your car, the road, and the guy (or girl) in the passenger seat, snoring through their promise to keep you awake. How and why THAT popped into my head, I'll never really know...but there it is. As for what you wrote, it's a brilliant piece that evokes quite a lot! I love it!

Salud! Enjoy that Margarita. About once or twice a year I enjoy a beer or two. That keeps it really special, and standing on two feet. ;))) Wonderful, fun poem. Now, I think it is time for a beer.

If you ever get the chance to go to Key West, Florida, Marilyn, you need to stop by Jimmy Buffest's 'Margaritaville.' Best damn margaritas I ever had...and I like mine with the coarse salt around the rim of the glass. Hmmm, good!

I have never really gotten into alchohol, but I'm with photostar, have a Waborita. He owns a factory down the road, ( Buffet not photostar) they make this blue coloured tequilla. AMAZING!

Silly and smooth.. We feel that way far to seldom, or at least I know I do. Must really shape up regarding my drinking habits. Should have a drink more often than once every half year, at least.. :)
