Description

a very good morning to you all :o) this is my first real attempt at this type of shot .i have been studing maria`s (cavalier lady) bird photo`s and look in amazement at how well she captures them ,so i am trying very hard to aspire to her work with great difficulty .maria is a very talented photographer and if i can be half as good i`ll be happy :o) the finches are fighting i believe over who should be first to feed .the shot was taken in my garden and i was at the top end of my zoom have a great friday my friends and the weekends here again so quickly .thanks for looking and comments mick

Maybe not quite as sharp as maria`s (cavalier lady) Mick but a very good start none the less. There's a feeder full of nuts at the bottom of my garden and it's been there for four months and not one bird has been near. Same location as the last one but for some reason they won't touch it. They eat the bread thats put out but not from that feeder, very strange. I think this is a very good shot Mick, one that you can build from, it's also a fun shot in that the birds expressions are pricless. It looks like this is a two perch feeder as well, could they have each gone to a different side? lol. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

This is great! A wonderful start. My hat is off to you for tackling this sort of thing - it looks like a tough assignment, but you've pulled it off! I can't wait to see what you come up with. This one is just WAY cool!

Aww, Mick, thank you so much for your kind words! You are making me blush! I think you did a wonderful job for this first capture! Really, I think I have reduced my camera's life to about half of what it ought to be, just from the many hundreds of shots I have thrown away. :) Really great sense of action and emotion you caught here (love the feet and legs touching each other), and such lovely colored finches different from ours! Fun to watch them squabble and carry on over the best feeding spots. Thank you for your generous compliments and for sharing this image! I expect to see more from you now, right?!

With the top end of my zoom a prop, or a tripod is almost necessary. This is a really great shot, though. When I saw the thumbnail, at first, I thought it was a photo manipulation because of the background. That makes it interesting, I think. ;o)

Wonderful in air capture. I like the wing details and the color. They better be careful or a third finch will eat while they fight... grin... :) Todd

I have tried many times capturing birds but with little luck.I think with a bird feeder, I would have better luck.they are beautiful and since digital is inexpensive to shoot, keep on trying as Maria said
