Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

February in So. CA was always beach weather for me. So, I'm not surprised at the warm sun seeking you out to shed it rays down upon. Glad you enjoyed it. Your poem celebrates the experience wonderfully, and with some humor. It definitely has the markings of a sun worshipper. ;) I hope you aren't as red as that photo.

WOW! It amazes me to hear it was only 45, Mr Mike. It was 49 here in NE. Wonderful words Marilyn.

I have been out in the back this morning checking my stones in the shed, I had to smash the ice in the bird bath, mind you the sun does not shine in the back until mid may, our house is South facing, so we get sun on the front all day. Excellent poem Marilyn, I can't wait for it to get warmer here. Bravo!!!!!

Glad you are enjoying some warmth there, Marilyn. It's 21 degrees here, at the moment, and I think I'll keep my winter-wear on, today...LOL

These snippets of everyday life are amazing and the image that accompanies this is wonderfully done! I just wish it was warm over here; my cold is better, it's finally starting to break up...but I've seen an alarming number of snowflakes...there have been flurries off and on all day so far, and oh, I really DO want to peel a few layers of clothes off and NOT freeze my bumm off! Oh well...at least YOU got to enjoy sun and warmth, and you wrote about it with such elegant simplicity. You know...if you read these all together, they work together in such an interesting way...life vignettes. It's a wonderful series you've started and yeah, I look forward to more! As always!

It's 46F here right now. I could be happy wearing a tank top, as long as I had on a sweater over it! LOL!

It must have been heavenly to finally get some warm sunshine radiating over your bod, Marilyn. I like your medium to well done photo, also. Incidentally, it's bright, sunny and 71 degrees fahrenheit in my neck of the woods at the moment (1:50PM PST).

Well, as a physician to be, I have to say you look a little too sunburnt in that shot.. You really should use sun block if this is how sensitive your skin is. :) The poem is wonderful, I know this feeling exactly!
