Description

Yesterday's Mt Hood Pano was taken looking east across the city of Portland. If I looked north instead, I got this shot of Mt Rainier on the left with its twin peaks, and Mt St Helens on the right with that darned branch in the way. Sorry, but there was no place to go where it wasn't in the way. Anyway, Rainier is about 100 miles (160 km) from Portland, and St Helens is about 50 miles (80 km) away. This is also composed of three shots, stitched together in PhotoShop CS3. Thanks for stopping by and any comments.

Wow, that's very impressive! I'm always amazed at how the smallest change in position can alter our perception of the size of these mountains. Great work!

Wow that's beautiful! Just bring some clippers next time and wait until no-one is looking and chop that branch out of the way! Just kidding of course. Don't worry it doesn't take away from the beauty of this scene you captured!

You had a lucky day to see all of Mt. Ranier Dennis. I spent two weeks in Puyallup, WA and never saw the top, it was always in the clouds. This is a keeper! Great pano.

Wow Dennis, what a beautiful shot. It must have been really clear, because normally you only see these mountains that clear when you fly above the clouds and they are usually 10,000-ft high. Come to think of it, you wouldn't even see Mt. St. Helens. Anyway, a super shot, Sig...

I'm so used to seeing Rainier from up here! Seeing it from other directions is always a revelation. This is a phenomenal image. Looking at this, it's hard to believe they're 50 miles apart. And look at all that snow! Wow. Gorgeous.

Well I actually like the addition of the branch Dennis, I think it gives an extra feeling of depth and perspective to this shot! Another fantastic vista perfectly stitched together...seemlessly! Hugs Chrissy xx

Wonderful work, i don't mind the branch, might have even a bit more to give a greater sense of depth. Excellent work, anyway!!
