Description

Decided to try my hand at modeling a lighthouse since so many of you have shared yours with me. This lighthouse is very old, made of rubble stone and now being held together by iron strapping. The keeper's house is also made of stone and the roof, being constructed of tin, is rusted and in need of care. Despite all of the aging needs of the old light, it's beacon still shines brightly. Enjoy and thanks for viewing and commenting... Bryce Resized, sharpened & sig. with Paint.Net

Again, your use of the camera and spotlights is outstanding. The sky is superb and the mood of the lighthouse keeper, solitary and serene. Excellent work, Keith!

Great idea and excellent work on a favourite subject. But with a curious twist. Hmmm... I wonder what the lighthouse keeper looks like: where is he/she/it?

Great work, Keith... shine on! I like the idea of it being held together with steel... still doing it's job.

This is an intriguing image! I love the light/shadow contrasts as well as the colors that you employ here. Great work, with a great mood as well...for all of the rust and make-do elements (Iron straps, rusted tin roofs, and such) the image has a wonderful, restful mood that also borders on brooding anticipation and even loneliness. Great job on all levels of this.

Well done Keith...only thing I would add is a smaller cylinder rendered in same railing texture to follow the perimeter of the top of your lighthouse to form a railing around it,but a great modelling job nonetheless...5+

This is very good for your first modelling attempt Keith, it's sometimes not as easy as it looks so well done on being brave and trying it. This is a great scene and the dying foliage also adds to the broken down look of the scene. Great work. I agree with Mariane, we'll be expecting more from you now. Tony :-)
