Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Ah, the joys of the 21st century! This piece has straightforward grace and it captures that species of frustration that we all probably know a lot better than we'd like to admit. Wireless Madness...I like that phrase, the repeated sounds. I got a good giggle out of that, but it was one of those "oh my god" giggles that you do whenever someone else goes through something you went through... Needless to say, this is a fantastic bit of writing and imagery.

Computers solves Problems you wouldn't have without them.... Cheer up! Things will go on. The next problem still stay around the next corner...:-) But hey, that's life. Thats the fun of life. Without problems life would be so boring, right!? Frank

Where would we be without our PC's? probably bored as %&($ lol, for I detest t.v. with all it's associated laden commercials. and yeah.. PC to me is more fun than tv,... Unless it's a movie off of cable. but mainstream t.v. simply bites in my book hehe! cool lil poem, and i feel for you really Marilyn! nice photo of this laptop, and beautiful coloring :-) Hang in there! have a great Wednesday this day as well :-) Hugssss

So glad to hear it's fixed, I would be lost without mine, if I had any hair I would be ripping it out. I do have other things to fall back on but, my computer comes first. Lovely words once again Marilyn, they really put across your frustrations of unconnectiveness. Bravo!!!!!

Glad to see you are back and up and running again, Marilyn. Once we get connected to the world, it becomes a constant part of our lives...and when we can't get connected, it's...@$%&$!

I can't help but chuckle because I know how you felt. I have been in a dilemma about which broadband to go to, the slower DSL that stay connected in a power outage versus the faster cable, which is non-functional in a power outage. I'm glad you managed to get back online. Your image is great! It reminds me of those arcade fortune teller machines, except the figure is the computer with the crystal ball inside the monitor. Computers and fortune telling machines seems an interesting comparison. LOL

Oh my dear, it's very sad and difficult for you!;-)

Shakespeare said it best: tis not better to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous computer woes, thereby depriving my Renderosity friends of lovely pictures. Anyway, glad you're back online with words of wisdom along with a grand depiction of a ghost computer.

Aaaah, we're so blessed with our toys, are we not? But hey, what's in your head, your beautiful words, your honest stories are what matters, the rest is just medium. Be it scribblings on the back of an enveloppe, the harsh inprints of the good old typewriter, or now our IT-WWW environment. And us writers will ALWAYS get the word out, even if we have to scream it from the top of a building.

I can't imagine life any more without my PC. reaches over to pat the CPU It's my link to so many things, so many people. Without my PC, my Renderosity friends would be inaccessible, and that's just unimaginable, unacceptable, inconceivable! ("I do not think that word means what you think that word means!") Awesome poem, tapping into our deepest fears. :)
