Description

Right next to the levee where I walk is a heather garden that was planted about 10 years ago. It's grown and filled out and when the time is right, the colors and shapes are stunning. I took this foto a couple of months ago, in the dead of winter, even then they provide quite a show!!

Wow!!! That is some stunning show Marilyn, I don't think I have ever seen heather as colourful as this, ours is mainly purple and white, nothing like this at all. Absolutely fantastic image. Bravo!!!!!

This is gorgeous, Marilyn! The sense of color is exquisite here, and I love the natural shapes formed here. Fantastic work on so many levels here! I love this, it's definitely one of my favorites!

Whenever I think of heather, it is always a bluish-purple in color. Had no idea, it came in other magnificent displays of color. Thanks for sharing this wonderful capture, Marilyn.

I like the crop and depth, the colours are Terrific. Jeff is right in the UK the heather is most often purple and white but I have been out on the moor in Autumn and it has gone a rust colour simillar to some here. Never seen Yellow !

Marilyn! this is way gorgeous dear! super beautiful colors and so full of life!!! great capture!!!! and happy this upload worked for you!!! Come hither child by Emily Jane Brontë Come hither child - who gifted thee With power to touch that string so well? How daredst thou rouse up thoughts in me Thoughts that I would - but cannot quell? Nay chide not lady long ago I heard those notes in Ula's hall And had I known they'd waken woe I'd weep their music to recall But thus it was one festal night When I was hardly six years old I stole away from crowds and light And sought a chamber dark and cold I had no one to love me there I knew no comrade and no friend And so I went to sorrow where Heaven only heaven saw me bend Loud blew the wind 'twas sad to stay From all that splendor barred away I imagined in the lonely room A thousand forms of fearful gloom And with my wet eyes raised on high I prayed to God that I might die Suddenly in that silence drear A sound of music reached my ear And then a note I hear it yet So full of soul so deeply sweet I thought that Gabriel's self had come To take me to my father's home Three times it rose that seraph-strain Then died nor lived ever again But still the words and still the tone Swell round my heart when all alone

Stellar POV, DOF and color spectrum in this shot of the heathers, Marilyn! Aye, you're a fine lass, me carline! But, sorry, I don't have an Emily Jane Bronte poem for you this time around.
