Why are they demolishing these houses Mick? is it to build new ones or to put a motorway through. I see that your half term is a week after ours my kids were off school last week.

So important to document these things! What's going in the place of your house? It would kill me to move, I've been in mine since I was 5 years old, apart from a couple of years of marriage!

That is a good idea to take some pictures for the history and memory. I remember when we first moved here we had a 100 year old farmhouse and barn behind us, with a five acre site around it. There are houses and a school, etc., all around this, but it was the last of a vanishing lifestyle. There were even some really old pieces of rusted farm equipment stored on the site. I took pictures of this, and not long.... a couple of years ago, the farmhouse, the barn, and everything was gone. In its place new houses. I miss the field back there, which I could see from my kitchen window. I felt like we lived in the country, instead of four minutes from downtown when it was there. ;o)
