Description

We climbed above the low fog to be greeted by dazzling sunshine, this shot taken with the sun behind. This Hamlet was a thriving place in the 1800's with a Manor House, Chapel and three farms with farmworkers houses. We had just passed some major restoration in progress, much of the Hamlet had been abandoned since the 1970's. What a charming place! The path, so worn and somewhat sunken, looks like it has been traveled many times over the years! Lovely shot!

Fantastic image Alan, great pov, I love those drystone walls, great examples both. This would look good on Flickr they have a spot for drystone walling. The farther of the two houses looks like it was converted from a barn going of the arch over the window, the one on the left looks like it is below the ground looking at the lintle over the doorway. A very interesting shot full of detail, I would love to visit this place myself. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

Doggone it! I just love those words you used ... hamlet, Manor House, Chapel... such wonderful words that conjure up some magical visions even without this magical shot.
