Description

This image was done for ImagineFX to celebrate Frazetta’s 80th birtday. I decided to paint a classical fantasy art piece like the ones we are used to see from Mr. Frazetta, I just did it in my style as I just didn’t dare to copy the masters style. A strong hero with some massive axes in his hands, in the background I used some elements Frazetta already used in his art like the birds. I painted a Portrait of Mr. Frazetta in the background to honor him and to show that he is the one who made this picture possible cause without him I probably wouldn’t paint anything today. I just hope I got a little likeness with the Portrait of Frazetta in the background as I just had a very small picture (taken in the 80’s right after his “come back”) from his website as reference. Hope you like the picture was a pleasure to paint it. Happy birthday Frank!

Wasn't that a wonderful issue? I liked your tribute a lot because you included the portrait, I loved seeing that. And your style is your own though I can see why Frazetta would be an inspiration;-) He's still living out in Pennsylvania, his stuff is up in a museum by the house--I keep meaning to go out there but things keep coming up!

You captured the style of Frank Frazetta very well and he would be very proud of you. I personally like the Axes...the broken Steele or Iron makes this more then perfect. the metal on arms and legs looks awesome real and the background is just like Frank Frazetta did his. The muscles came out magnificent and gives the whole scene a powerful characteristic. I also like that you painted an image of the Master himself to celebrate his 80th Birthday. One of the best images I've seen so far for the fantasy master ...Two thumbs way up !!
