Description

Ernestine and Hazel's stands as one of the last relics of Old Memphis. The upstairs was an active brothel during the days of WWII (especially with the train station nearby taking the soldiers off to war) and at least through the 1960s. Nine rooms upstairs were rented out by the minute to the working girls. Walking through the front door you can't help but feel the energy/history that's there. Because time exists in all time; but that's another story... The "juke-joint" is world famous for its Soul burgers. It's also been featured in several movies, including Elizabethtown and Black Snake Moan. This is a photo of the upstairs hallway taken last Thursday night when Marshall and I were there as psyche medium Tina Michelle conducted her psyche walk through of the haunted place. Click here for Marshall's shot looking down the other end of the hall, Walking the Hall, Part Two.
You can click here for more information about Ernestine and Hazel's. Thanks for viewing. Make it a great day!

Fabulous capture! Colours are wonderful, and also enjoyed the history lesson. The wood floor looks like hand scraped planks, how old is the building?
