Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Beautiful prose Marilyn, and yes we do look and yes we do care, and as long as you keep posting, writing, photographing. There will always be someone looking and caring, and I hope that knowledge makes things a bit better. Excellent words very profound and full of meaning. Bravo!!!!! Hugs xx

What a wonderful, evocative poem! I love the technique of repetition, creates for such a dramatic tone; creates for a sadness as well, and yet there is some form of resolution as the pattern repeats itself on "another night". The beauty of literature, and writing... to express the self, and to be able to give oneself a voice--even if its only for that individual to listen. A very healing, and most beautiful piece... and a lovely composition to accompany it!

This is a stunning piece of Prose, Marilyn, so full of emotions that don't just stay in one limited part of the whole mood-spectrum. There's concise order to this, but an emotional shift that works beautifully! So much of what you write is incredibly revealing, showing every element of a life that is vibrant and alive! Fantastic work, and the image that accompanies it is utterly gorgeous! I love the mood that you've captured there too. The thumbnail, with the purple scrawl of writing reminds me of a book cover. Great stuff, as always! Richly emotional, deliciously heady. Evocative of so many things. This is definitely one of my favorites among the pieces that you've written, and the pieces that you've written are brilliantly done!

Of course I care! lol and so sorry we could not hang out this weekend.. sometimes problems just crop up and we have no control of that really. also quite a dark and wet dismal day... perhaps next time of course! I will get to mails after I catch up a bit here, plus the Tiger Game in Arizona is about over :-) hugssss and great photo too!!!

If I didn't know better I'd say that was a shot of the contrails and/or vapor trails emitted by high flying jet aircraft, or possibly the effluence of a rogue cloud. As for the soul-searching prose, my sentiments exactly. An adequate time for a primal scream.

When you validate yourself, you don't need someone else to validate you. Just being who you are is more than enough. You're on the right track, Baby! :)
