Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Those words are certainly flowing Marilyn, pouring out of you just like the rain pouring out of the sky. These words I feel are pouring out of your heart and soul and they are wonderful and sometimes sad. It's good though that you can get them out and sort them into some sort of order. Can capture them just like a photograph, and share them with others. I admire you for that. Wonderful prose and the image goes well with the poem. Excellent work. Bravo!!!!!

We were driving down the mountain in this yesterday! Saw mud and rock slides starting to build. Saw yards and fields under water. Good words and shot here.

I do my best writing in the summer, with the windows open and rain whispering down through the trees, or blowing in fitful gusts--in which case I close my windows...or closed them, back when I lived in Chicago, where it rained a lot differently than it does here. I miss those restful days, but I know they'll come again...somewhere else. As for what you've written here...it's great! You've captured so much, and your words echo the sentiments of the people I know and care for the most. ONE particular person, especially...and it was always when it rained that we DID (and will) snuggle, usually while drinking vodka and eating zakuski (snacks). Your words bring all of that back, and make me look forward to more settled days in the future...settled days with that one someone to snuggle with, while drinking vodka and re-discovering that cucumbers and strawberries really do make the best zakuski.

Don't know why there's no sun up in the sky, stormy weather... (come to think of it, that line is an oxymoron. Evidently, you must know that the reason you can't see the sun is because of the clouds and rain. Any weatherman can tell you that.) Anyway, the image reflects the description perfectly in your prose, Marilyn. As for me, on stormy days, either I just work on the computer, stand at the window marveling at the rare rain, or do crossword puzzles.

Sometimes it is good to have a few hours to just sit enjoy the rain and think. I think sometimes it helps heal the soul to dream and to remember. Wonderful words my friend :)
