Description
Istarreth danced to the Piper's music one wintry day in a story of sacrifice and choice.
"The Piper's Pay" appeared in Fantasybook, March 1986. This is one of the two pen & ink illos. I liked them and had prints made.
A couple of years later, at a WorldCon back east, a woman came rushing up to my dealer's table to buy the signed prints (the originals are not for sale). I started to tell her about how "they were for a wonderful story by Jayge Carr" when she pulled out her real ID. The author.
Well, I liked her story, so I was glad that she liked my art.
