My Best Friend And Me Today was one Of those great Sunny warm Magical days The kind you embrace The kind that makes You get out And move So that’s what I did My best friend And I did just that We moved We got on our bikes And we rode and we rode And we rode some more All over the place All over town Thru the neighborhoods Up the streets Down the streets She’s my BEST friend And we had the BEST time Talking riding Sharing together We had coffee We talked some more And we got back On our bikes Then it was time For me to leave And I packed My bags We took pictures We ALWAYS Take pictures And then I said goodbye But only for A short time Cuz I’m going back In just a couple of days And we’ll do it all over again 2/26/08

i agree its not how many friends you have ,but who you can rely on .i have loads of what i call aquaintances but for quite some time now i have never had best friend apart june that is :o)..fantastic writing marilyn and glad you have someone to rely on . mick

Awww very nice on you made, and I feel so bad we missed out on a bike ride!!! and funny thing is, when we did ride bikes in the past, we hardly took pics!!! haha guess to busy shooting the breeze lol! well next time we shall when you are in the area :-) cool photo too Marilyn!

Friendship is a fantastic thing, and for me it's not about quantity but about quality, you don't need a lot because true friendship goes a long long way. These words of yours just about sum it up. It's about doing things you both enjoy and sharing things that you don't, it's about having someone that will listen and actually hear what you are saying. All those things and more. Wonderful prose. Bravo!!!!!

Great narrative poem, as always...you provide these wonderful glimpses into a single life! I love that. Your world is a rich place, a bit exhausting if bike riding also involves going up-hill! I love your reference to friendship as well...when you're able to share everything, guzzle coffee, and share some more, that's the best thing in the world! My closest friends aren't exactly bike riders; a couple of them are...but I'm a bit afraid to go bike riding with them, since instead of coffee, vodka is what's most often consumed.

What a great shot of you and Anna, and I love the poem! My best friend and I don't ride, but boy, do we drink coffee and talk up a storm! :) This is a wonderful bit of writing, and a great presentation.
