Description

Why have you left me? I am lonely! I long for sunshine thru my windows, for laughter to echo in my rooms, for belongings to fill the emptiness, for new paint to dress my walls, carpet to cover my cold floors, curtains to adorn my windows...but most of all I need you! I want to live again, please care for me. Another house on my block that has sat empty a full year now. Waiting, wanting to be useful again. Daily I watch the dealers and other activity outside the house and have seen them rip the boards off so they can go in to do their sales and users to use. I am simply amazed that even after I called police to try to stop the activity all they did was board it up again...more wasted space, more wasted money...why doesn't someone 'get it'? Thanks for looking and for previous comments.

Its not just you I see plenty sitting empty in my neck of the woods also, I am so glad I didnt buy a house a few years back, I thin everyone is struggling financially now, hopefully things will turn around..and no authority dont get it, they make money from it ... sad times..

Give the authorities long enough and they'll take it for back taxes and either sell it at auction or tear it down. Detroit is the same way. Theres a house on our block thats sat abandoned for several years. The city sells it,people come and fix it up a bit but then give up and disappear. We're just waiting for the crackheads to burn it down.

Another? Grr! Why doesn't anyone do something about this? Stupid, stupid-heads, that's what they are. And you'd think the cops would do more than board it up again, if dealers and stuff are using them... again, homeless peopelz come to mind... good shot, though...

Looks like it would be an excellent home for the homeless. Sad, but beautiful photo and your words are so fitting, Lynn.

I dont know why the lenders who are going to lose anyways dont let the people that owe for the house live in it until they can sell it or let them rent it for a lower rent. At least that way it wont be taken over by crack heads and druggies. They should be able to figure something out. Maybe give the government less money to piss away on war. Great shot . Very thought provocing.

some officials look at things like this as "not worth it" and just stick their heads in the sand. That could be a home for a family. Instead of used needles on the floors there could be a nice carpet with Christmas gifts waiting.....sound cheesy to some of you? Well, we need a real change in all political parties and the country's attitude overall. So much is wasted because people are unwilling or afraid to do something. I'll stand with you though. I'll fight for it. :) Great shot again!!! :D -chachi
