Description

The observatories on Sirrus One were built decades ago to search the galaxies for intelligent life. Recently, however, scientists have been noticing an anomaly occurring and are now watching with intent and awe....the confluence or joining together of two extremely large galaxies. Excellent image Keith...the composition and lighting is very well done, but it is that background and atmosherics that are truly amazing! Is that all bryce or some postwork? If it;s a combination of the two you've blended them well...kudos right back at ya!

That is all Bryce, Neil. It's a manipulation and skewing of the cloud planes with the addition of a few radial lights.

Keith- I just dropped by after work and saw this post- it's an absolute corker! And you know what I'm going to ask you next don't you? It's really knockout! The convex nature of the sky is simply vertiginous. And the luminosity of the atmosphere and the nearby moons/planets are done so well. The structures are crystal clear and perfect. Really first class! (Thanks for the site reference!) Now I suppose I better get back to my boring, scantily clad amazons... oh well...

I think this is the best image you've produced so far Keith, great modelling and terrain work and your great trademark planets. What does it for me it the stunning use of the cloud planes to give the nebula type effect, absolutely astounding. This is going into my favourites as fast as I can type. It's no wonder with images like this that you're in the running for March Artist of the Month. Tony :-)
