Description

Still working my way down Multnomah Creek toward the big waterfall. This is Ecola Falls; the waterfall database says it's 55 ft (16 m) high, but it's very hard to get a good shot of it, because the valley here is so steep and there is lots of vegetation. This shot would be almost completely blocked by leaves in the summer. Some time in the summer I'll work my way up the creek itself and get some shots of the whole thing. Wow - that sheer drop makes for some pretty impressive-looking water! I feel like I have to yell so you can hear me over the roar. This has a real sense of immediacy to it. You make me think I'm standing right there!
