Description

I told Marilyn that I used to do knitting and one day I would post some of it, well here it is. When I was a kid(before being a teenager) my mother learned me how to cook, sew, knit, iron and everything else about running a home. She told me I might not get wed so I needed to know just in case. Thanks Mom, it helped more than once. Emma aged four in the pale green, knotted lace top and a pleated and steamed skirt. Emma aged five in the lilac lace top and pleated skirt. The knitted clown, I did that and donated it to Emma's primary school for a raffle, they raised close to £200.00 GBP. All were done on a Brother Knitting machine part of which can be seen in a couple of the shots. I knitted a couple of the suits and sold them for £85.00 each, that is child size, Adults was £125.00gbp. I also used to do quite a lot of Mohair edge to edge jackets, lined with silk and with aplique's at £80 - £110 depending on size and design. Emma still has both suits in her wardrobe and they are still like new, Pauline still has several mohair jackets still in her wardrobe. I have not done any knitting since my eyes started to get bad, maybe about ten years ago. I have however started doing jewelry as part of my stone polishing hobby. Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you where ever you are. For all you ladies out there, HAPPY MOTHERS DAY. xxxxx

Well! Am I ever impressed!!! Good on yer, Jeff, I'm a bit of a knit myself, and I know how complicated those things in your pic are. Well done, show's that some men can do two things at once!

I tried knitting and did okay. I learned crocheting and did better and actually made a couple skirts and sweaters for myself. I have done countless crocheted scarves and blankets but I have never used a machine to do it and I can see that it really makes a difference. These items you made are quality items! Great photos of Emma that make me feel good inside and awesome skill you have in clothing manufacturing.
