Description

David saw this pic on one of the forum threads and asked if he could see the 'big picture' to coin a phrase. So this is for you David. This is a scanned photograph of the Rochdale Co-operative Museum, situated at 31 Toad Lane, Rochdale, UK. I keep meaning to go back to the same spot I took this, which is on the top floor of a multi store car park but they have put a roof and barrier in place now so it will be difficult. I wanted to get a digital image as well as the film. It would take all day to type in the information regarding this historical building and the Co-op society, so I have included a couple of web sites that may be of interest to some of you. The first link is to a site created by an expatriot who now lives in Canada, He saw a couple of my photo's on the internet and has he was doing a piece on Rochdale asked me if he could use them, I told him yes. The rest is on his site, and there are more than a couple of my pics on there. The second link is the official Co-op Museum site, and to me is not as good as the first link. http://manchesterhistory.net/rochdale/historypage.html http://museum.co-op.ac.uk/ Thanks for stopping by for a look and for any comments you care to make. May the sun shine down on you, where ever you are. Snow here at the momment.

Great foto, Jeff ~~ there are a couple of old barns north of Santa Rose, California that have really old advertising on them. I'm heading that way as I drive home, maybe I can get a couple of shots; you've inspired me here with this one!!

What a wonderful building! It would be nice to see more of the roof, but ... that's okay. Just my inveterate curiosity getting the better of me! The photo is quite good, especially considering its age and the fact that it's been scanned. Excellent work!
