Description

This is another exercise in the terrain editor, using lattice terrains. In Photoshop I created seperate elements of the ruins...the steps, the platforms, the colonades and the floors of each level. These were brought into the lattice terrain editor, created and then put together, much like building an actual model. They were then textured in a medieval wall photo from cgtextures.com,and another photo texture was used for the terrain. The "premium" render setting with "true ambiance" was used to render the scene, then back to Photoshop to add the birds by hand and signature. Thanks for viewing and for all your comments on my last image...Neil.

This is a stupendous image! Really good "feel" to it i.e. models, textures, lighting all fit together nicely to create an amazing image.

Now that is a stunning image Neil, fantastic modelling work as always and a great overall scene. Your work goes from strength to strength. It's looking at images like this that's dragging me away from abstracts and back to sci-fi stuff. Tony :-)

You have done a lot of excellent work with this one, Neil. Paid off handsomely, too. Especially like those ruins and the way the render is 'banked' for a very effective POV.

oo, applying that phototex got such excellent results, plus you are so patient to assemble everything in Bryce (I hate having such a tiny window for a workspace, and no multiple views) Splendid results!
