ABOUT JAMES LYONS
Like most other artists I have been involved with creating art in one form or another for most of my life.
My mother got me started at a very young age when she taught me how to draw small airplanes dropping bombs on people(that should have been a clue!)
After a long stint in the Marine Corps that included combat in Operation Desert Storm, I went back to my art and started anew.
Needless to say as the years passed by my work improved. In my artistic pursuit I have worn many different hats. I have done both mechanical and architectural drafting, sculpture, both acrylic and oil painting, watercolor and now, finally, I have entered the magical realm of painting with pixels!
I have had a lot of encouragement along the way and I sincerely appreciate all the help, be it a kind word or tip on how to do something better or the support that I have from family and friends!
A larger body of my work can be found here: The Art of James Lyons
My biography wouldn't be complete without mentioning some of my artistic influences, in no particular order they would be: Larry Elmore, Toxicangel, Ravenheart, Royo, Todd Lockwood, Matt Stawicki,  Nene Thomas &  Clyde Caldwell

Nicely done

Great sky, nice aircraft. Would have worked even better with only the bottom one, I think. Sometimes you can get overkill with too many items in one image. (My opinion only - I like the pro photographer's approach - get up close and personal. Then keep it as simple as you can).

I'm an aviation buff. I worked on B-52s back in the 80s. These '17s are really amazing. The render and modeling are superb. Lighting and haze are spectacular.

This is amazing! I really like it. These are World War II airplanes aren't they? Thanks for sharing your talent! Lea
