Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

The words are lovely and the image is a perfect match, it looks so dreamy and welcoming, a beautiful curving pathway leading up between the flower beds full of colour. A warming sight indeeed. Wonderful poem. Bravo!!!!!

It's nice to 'get away from it all' ... but at the end of the day 'home is where the heart is' ... they may both be cliches, but they are, nevertheless, very true. As always your writing is clear and precise, a joy to read. Mike

And that path leading to your door in the accompanying photo just says, 'Welcome.' Nice words, as always, Marilyn.

It's always good to get back home. Well said! I particularly like the rhythm of "and just that makes my life ... just a bit off." Perfect!

This is a fantastic work...so true! Having the best of both worlds is utterly fantastic...having a home and places to travel to. That's always the best thing. The image with this is superb as well. I love the whole thing, and I agree Tara...the pacing/cadence of this is great!

Be it ever so humble, there's no place like home...isn't that what Dorothy said to Toto when she woke up back in her bed in Kansas? Now that you're back safe and sound in your cozy bailiwick, with batteries recharged, you're all set to go again! Great column of insight, and nice gauzy image, Marilyn.

As Bukowski often said, all a man (or woman) needs are four walls, without that you haven't got a chance in this world. Having a home, how rich are we...
