morning all :o) so lets see , what defines art and who defines it ?.. does anyone really know or is it just believed to be art by the person looking at it !..why is it that someones pic of their dog/cat ,car or whatever is not classified other than nonsense and yet someones elses pics of 3 sticks on a black background is what photography is supposed to be about ART !!..i was going to be devious this morning and put a pic up of nothing ,cover it with a warning,knock off the comments and call it dont look .i wonder how many views it would of got and whether it would make the art charts :o)..my cage has been rattled by a few who seem to think they know everything but not prepared to help anyone except call their work nonsense and not worth looking at .everybody has a right to their own views on what they choose to look at but to actually turn round and say they are not elitist PLEASE dont insult our intelligence .the view is there are 3 catagories within photography on this site 1.progression 2.cats dogs and babies 3.friends comments i have been asked to remove the quote and have done so .. if there is such a group concerning i want to progress where is it ,do i have to send a portfolio of pics to have them looked at before i join !! lets just say i`m happy with what friends i have ,my 30 odd comments and anyone who cares to look and leave a comment whether termed fluffy or constructive thats ok by me . next up what is cc .if i see a pic i like ,i look at its merits and comment accordingly so if i see a pic with what i term as nothing wrong with it does that mean i should`nt comment unless i can critise or do i put whatever superlative i choose to tell them i like it and be termed fluffy .well i dont know and there are a few others feeling the same way .. if i`ve upset anyone by these words ,well i believe there is still freedom of speech ,its my gallery and they are my pics good or bad to my friends i apoligise for the rant and thanks for looking :o) mick
