Yeppers indeed mick.. this place is going downhill it seems. yet there is a business [Olympia Fitness] place in it! I guess some people will take up what ever they can afford! and very nice photo none the less regarding the slight tilt. does not bother me the least really :D also seems a fire may of gutted the top left portion? very cool photo mate! and ahhh no no... you are more deserving than a dang caravan lol! good luck on that!

I think the tilt is just the POV and it doesn't look out of place. This delapidated scene certainly makes for great photography - excellently captured urban decay, Mick!

I have been to Redcar many times, apart from the area around the race course, the rest need complete redevelopment. A shame to see it in this state, a real faded glory.

Nice crisp and clear shot, Mick. Though I have no idea where this is, seems many folks are familiar with it, this is a very good example of the changes is urban landscapes, as new areas are developed and others become dilapidated. Hopefully these won't be your new digs! :)

Well looking at the fire damage I don't think the fitness club will be there now, all the windows boarded up would mean a big electric bill I would think. I haven't been up that way since 1983 when I used to deliver to the steel works. I packed my job in, in Sheffield and moved back over to Rochdale, the place I worked and 80% of the steel works have shut down now. I got out when the time was right. I don't think the slight list on this matters that much Mick, its a great example of dereliction that affects most towns to some extent. The trouble is half the time that the councils have problems locating the owners to serve notice on them to tidy the buildings up. Another thing is it could be waiting for the insurers to decide what they are going to pay out on it. I bet we could all go out and find something similar to this in our own towns/cities. Excellent capture. Bravo!!!!! Hope you solve your re-housing problem soon, and keep of the weed.

Even though this is an abandoned building, it still has a beauty of its own. You captured it well. Hope your housing woes are resolved soon, there's a house down the street from me that's for rent, but it might be a bit more of a drive than you want!!

I think straight is overrated. Give me a bit of a tilt as a new perspective and I'm with you every time....

You need a gimick... Like, a big American Indian Teepee. Set it up and proceed to camp out in a public campground. Call the local TV news and turn them on to the odd person living in a teepee in a campground because of the sad state of the affordable housing market. Before you know it, donations from well-wishers will be pouring in to a trust account for you - might even get some landlord to offer a year's free rent to you just for the publicity. :-) Sooo, maybe I've just worked in the political and governmental fields for too many years...LOL I like this shot of this aging building. It has a story behind it that really ought to be told.

Tilt? There's no tilt. Scroll up and down, and look at the space between the top of the building and the top of the screen. It couldn't be more level if you tried! The tilt is an optical illusion. Great shot, btw! Even though the building is apparently gutted, it still has great bones. Look at those deco details ... fantastic!

Dallas has many abandoned buildings like this.a seedy part of every city almost with exception of Singapore and Dubai.excellent capture

Old buildings need restoration, not demolition. We have a TV series here called HGTV, and some people have purchased huge, old warehouses with good structure and great architectural features, and gutted it, and turned them into a multimillion dollar homes. Or they will have a business on the lower floors, and a fantastic loft apartment upstairs. All done with great expense, of course, marbles, fine woods, etc. It salvages the building, and makes the neighborhood renewable. They do most of the work themselves to save on costs, but hey, all it takes is money, of course, to do the rest of it. ;o)
